From the Top Drawer XLI - Another Green World

boondocks
noun (used with a plural verb)
1. an uninhabited area with thick natural vegetation, as a backwoods or marsh (usually preceded by the).
2. a remote rural area (usually preceded by the): The company moved to a small town out in the boondocks.
The second (?) Another Green World cassette album dates from 1988 and features regulars Paul Chousmer and Dan Carpenter, along with guests Nick van Gelder and Eden (Phil Pickering). Bob Dog did the recording. Very much a family affair involving folks involved with Club Dog (where Dan and Paul sometimes appeared in acoustic mode as 'Glee Pathos') and the many free festivals and squatted gigs that hosted the weird and wonderful sights and sounds of the time.

If you missed the first tape then go HERE where you can find a little more info on the band if you're not familiar with them.

Ripped as two side-long tracks @320kbps.
Along with the full album above I've included in the archive a couple of untitled and possibly unreleased tracks which date from the same period. Not much info on those, except one features the unmistakable bass sounds of Webcore and Zuvuya's Phil Pickering, aka Eden.

  1. Thx, never knew this second one even existed but have loved My Dreams In Your Hands ever since it was released and was mesmerised by AGW at the Decca Records Warehouse (Fairyland) Mystery Trip :-)

  2. Hi pOoTer, yes this is quite a lesser spotted tape it seems, certainly not as well known as the 'My Dreams' one. I suppose I just got lucky picking up a copy at the time (almost certainly from the Club Dog stall @The Robey)- hope you enjoy it as much as the other.

  3. Can't wait to hear this. I like the other Another Green World you posted sometime back. Do you happen to have the Wooden Baby tape 'Embalment'? I guess if you did, it would have been up here by now. If you ever get that one, please please post it up. Thank you!

  4. Hi anon, sorry don't have the Wooden Baby tape you mention, in fact I'll be getting near to posting the end of my tape collection from this era quite soon - I might make it to 50 posts if I'm lucky, then that's it!

  5. Hi Head duster, Do you have any of the cassettes from TIMESHARD, Liverpool psychedelic techno warriors? I do have "Hypoborean Dome Temples Of Apollo" and "LIVE" cassettes, if your interested i could send them to you to upload to your excellent blog. Thanks Tai73

  6. Hello tai73, and thanks for your offer. I don't have any of the original Timeshard cassettes myself - I found some TS tape rips on SoulSeek a while ago but they're only of middling quality. So if you have your own rips @320k & artwork(?)(what I've been posting) and can upload them to a hosting service (Mediafire's good), I would be happy to write a post and link them up. Otherwise we would have to sort out some other method of transfer.
You can get in touch via headduster@gmx.com - cheers.
